- How patterns are produced :
By increasing the number of baisar and pai , a pattern is produced . The pais or layers of warps have to be increased only in complicated cases as it increases the thickness; otherwise an increase in the number of baisar generally serves the purpose.
- Tana-Bana or Weft of Kalabattun
A simple little stick of bamboo with conical ends and well polished is used for weaving kalabattun(gold & silver thread). It is called a kandhi, a very superior quality of bamboo is used, which is imported from Bengal. The karigar has a number of kandhis as he may require several of them at a time in a complicated pattern.
Hence the completion is done and hard work soon pays. Stay connected and read more about how the finishing and shine is giving to the fabric.
